Elizabeth Hile PT, PhD is an Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) College of Allied Health where she directs the PhD Program in Rehabilitation Sciences. At the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, Dr. Hile directs the Cancer Rehabilitation Clinic and the linked OUHSC Cancer Rehabilitation Research Laboratory. She is a Board-certified Neurologic Physical Therapist and a Certified Lymphedema Therapist with over 25 years of academic practice focused on helping adults with central and peripheral neuromuscular pathologies restore optimal movement and life participation. Dr. Hile conducts interprofessional collaborative research on early detection, clinical phenotyping, and rehabilitative interventions for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. She is co-inventor of a toe strength quantification device (U.S. Patent 11402284, issued 08/02/2022) her team now studies in prospective surveillance of distal motor function during neurotoxic chemotherapies for women's cancers. Dr. Hile trained at SUNY Geneseo (B.S. in Biochemistry), SUNY Buffalo/ Roswell Park Cancer Center (NSF Summer Research Fellow in Membrane Biophysics), the University of Pittsburgh (M.P.T., M.S. in Neuromuscular PT, Ph,D. in Rehab Science), and the affiliated NIA P30 Pittsburgh Pepper Center (post-doctoral scholar in mobility and aging).
